Mt. Cuba Center is hosting our annual Trial Garden Open House from 5:00 – 7:30 p.m. September 15, 2026. This free event provides you with an opportunity to explore Mt. Cuba’s gardens and hear about the latest trial garden report, ongoing trials, and possible future trial endeavors. Enjoy a guided tour of the Trial Gardens at 5:30 and 6:30. There will also be plant sales and a food truck available. Each Registrant will be given two free drink vouchers.

To enrich your Trial Garden experience Mt. Cuba is also providing an engaging half-day professional learning forum that connects participants with Mt. Cuba Center's nationally recognized horticultural research and conservation work. Join us for educational sessions led by Mt. Cuba Centers experts.

Wrap-up your educational experience as a part of the live audience for the panel discussion and Native Plants, Healthy Planet’s podcast recording around native grasses. Join Pinelands Nursey’s Fran Chrismar and Tim Knezick along with Mt. Cuba staff.

Through classroom presentations, field-based learning, and direct access to active research, you will gain practical insights into native plant performance, ecological gardening, and habitat stewardship. Foster meaningful dialogue among peer gardeners, landscape professionals, conservation practitioners, and native plant enthusiasts.

Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are available for eligible professionals, providing an opportunity to earn professional development credits while engaging with the latest research and best practices in native plant horticulture, ecology, and conservation.
