Ted Ventre, Hively Landscapes

The purpose of the Exceptional Leadership Award is to recognize the efforts of individuals that “step up to the plate” on behalf of PLNA. Recipients of this award are recognized for dedication and significant time and effort in advancing the “PLNA cause” and advocating on behalf of PLNA members and the green industry at large.

Ted Ventre just completed 9 years of service as a PLNA board member and Foundation trustee and currently represents the landscape profession as an inaugural board member of the Center for Plant Excellence. His wisdom and willingness to speak up for our industry is respected and contagious.

Ted is an out-of-the-box thinker and big-picture dreamer who isn’t afraid to challenge the status quo for the good of our members. And he puts his money where his mouth is. For instance, when, as Board Chair, he wanted to bring membership Meet Ups back, he hosted the very first one himself. When he believed PLNA needed more in-person connection at the board level, he opened his doors and hosted us for an in-person board meeting.

Ted leads by example and consistently reinforces that community in Pennsylvania isn’t just important to PLNA, it IS PLNA.
