2026 Fredrick J. Mummert Distinguished Service Award

Mike Feeney, Feeney's Wholesale Nursery, Inc.

This award recognizes individuals who have served PLNA with a truly outstanding lifetime commitment during their career. It is presented to someone who personifies professional excellence and whose long-term dedication has enhanced PLNA’s services, standards, and image.

The Mummert Distinguished Service Award is PLNA’s highest membership award and is bestowed with unanimous approval by its Board of Directors.

For more than four decades, Mike Feeney has been a steadfast leader, advocate, and visionary within Pennsylvania’s green industry. A long time member of PLNA’s Government Relations Committee—and a past Chairman and Board Member—he has played a pivotal role in shaping policy, strengthening industry standards, and advancing the association’s mission.

Mike’s commitment to public affairs is extensive. He has testified before the Pennsylvania Senate Agriculture Committee, and worked closely with State Senator Art Hershey on the development of the state’s ACRE law. He also served as an initial TreeVitalize donor and continues to represent PLNA on the State Invasive Plant Committee, ensuring the industry’s voice is present in critical statewide discussions.

Beyond his policy work, Mike is a dedicated land steward and community benefactor. Since purchasing a 55 acre farm in 1984, he has expanded it to 325 acres—earning recognition as Bucks County Farm of the Year. He has also served as a board member and past president of Bucks Beautiful, contributing to beautification and environmental enrichment throughout the region.

Though Mike is a visible and vocal leader, he typically supports without fanfare. This makes it our special privilege to honor Mike with PLNA’s highest honor.

Congratulations, Mike!
