Harrisburg – The Pennsylvania House on January 10 unanimously passed a bill (HB 1665) that would protect snow and ice contractors from indemnification clauses in contracts that would make them liable for snow and ice accidents that are not their fault.
It is common practice for commercial enterprises to include clauses in their snow and ice removal contracts that make the contractor fully liable for any snow and Ice related accidents, even those that are not their fault. This bill would prohibit that practice.
The bill now moves to the Pennsylvania Senate for consideration and was referred to the Senate Judiciary Committee.
