Herbert George Gumpf (“Bert”), 89, of Chippewa Township in Beaver County, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 2, 2018. Bert was a prominent businessman owning and operating Gumpf Gardens’ Landscape Company and, with his wife, Gumpf’s Garden Center. Bert served on the PLNA Board of Directors for over 10 years and proudly served as President in 1988. Bert's dedication to the industry was awarded in 1995 when he was named Nurseryman of the Year and later received the honor of Lifetime Membership.
