HARRISBURG – Christopher Uhland, the manager of PLNA member Harmony Hill Nursery in Downingtown, Pa. was recently elected as chairman of the Department of Environmental Protection’s (DEP) Agricultural Advisory Board. The DEP’s Ag advisory Board provides feedback to the department on regulations and issues that affect Pennsylvania agriculture.
Uhland is the first member of the green industry to chair the DEP Ag Advisory Committee. In the past, the chairmanship has rotated among more traditional agricultural organizations, such as the Farm Bureau and Penn Ag Industries.
Uhland has been a member of the Advisory Board for four years. He succeeded Bill D. Wells, Jr. as the ornamental horticulture representative on the panel.
